Rare Vintage RMS Franconia Stratton Souvenir Compact Rare Vintage RMS Franconia Stratton Souvenir Compact
Rare vintage RMS Franconia Stratton powder compact circa early 1950s.
Features a beautiful foil backed illustration of the RMS Franconia cruise ship on the lid and has a spiral base. Opens to reveal the powder well lid, engraved with Stratton Made in England - as is the mirror bezel, and powder well with original loose face powder sifter (which is worn but could easily be replaced with a new sifter and powder puff).
A special gift for collectors or vintage lovers.
This highly collectable compact would have been purchased as a souvenir from the RMS Franconia, which was a Cunard Line Ocean Liner that sailed between 1922 and 1956. Many of these pleasure trips ran between Liverpool and New York and on world cruises.
During World War II the ship was requisitioned to transport troops and was involved in several military campaigns, she would later carry US troops and refugees to America and Canada and help to repatriate British troops and freed Prisoners of War.
Measures: 3 inches across.
Condition: Excellent overall condition with minor age wear. I have included the original sifter but this is worn and I would recommend a new replacement.
All vintage items have been pre-used, unless stated otherwise, and may have gentle signs of wear.
Delivery is free to the UK mainland. We also ship internationally, please use the shipping calculator at checkout.
