Rare antique Victorian brooch with a garnet red pressed glass cabochon that has a 'bicycle reflector' honeycomb internal design that reflects the light.

Possibly Bohemia (later known as Czech) glass.

The finish inside the stone is so unusual, I cannot find another like it. This has a long pin (that is very sharp, as I found out a few times) that extends far beyond the brooch and a c hook catch. The faceted cabochon stone is actually pressed glass and you can just see the edges where the glass meets the base. The base and scalloped edging are a nice bright gold metal finish - not tested.

This is a small brooch - see below:
Width: 1.7 cm
Length: 2.6 cm including the pin and approx 2 cm for the main body only.
Depth of stone and base (not inc. the pin): approx 0.6 cm

Condition: Very good. If you look closely you may see an arc line in the stone but, having looked with a loupe, it is superficial.

Important: Please keep all small or sharp items of jewellery away from young children as they could scratch or present a choking hazard.

All vintage items have been pre-used, unless stated otherwise, and may have gentle signs of wear.
