Antique 1700s to early 1800s, Georgian paste cluster pendant.

Features a closed back, old (hand) cut colourless paste stone surrounded by 12 small pinched collet set single cut stones. Some have a noticeable black dot, typical of the Georgian jewellers who were trying to replicate the depth and look of diamonds, others are too irregular to see. The outer stones have the most sparkle. The main body is a coppery gold and white metal.

Measures approx. 1cm not including the ring. Boxes shown are for display only.

This was likely a part of a larger piece of jewellery or earring set (it was common to repurpose jewellery and some earrings came with adaptable 'day to night' elements) or worn sewn onto a garment (as can be seen on the wax effigy of Frances Teresa (Stuart), Duchess of Richmond and Lennox in Westminster Abbey).

Condition: Solid with age wear, the white metal has patina (oxidised), the stones have wear and nibbles. This was originally handmade with hand cut stones, hence the irregularity and general appearance. See all images as they are part of the description.

Important: Please keep all beads, sharp and small items of jewellery away from young children as they could present a choking hazard.

All vintage items have been pre-used, unless stated otherwise, and may have gentle signs of wear.
