Vintage Danish silver bar brooch by Eiler and Marløe.

A beautiful silver Art Nouveau inspired brooch made in Denmark.

Eiler and Marløe were silversmiths based in Copenhagen, Denmark (1920-1967). They were a competitor to Georg Jensen, producing high quality jewellery inspired by the organic natural forms of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements, a combined style named Skønvirke (beautiful work) in Denmark. Their work is much coveted today and highly collectible. The pared back design of this lovely brooch, with its central floral motif, is striking in its simplicity and reflects the move from earlier Skønvirke creations towards Danish Modern.

Width: 1.4 cm
Length: 6.3 cm
Weighs: 7g

Hallmarks: E&M (Eiler and Marløe) 225 (the design number) and 830S (solid silver mark).
