Late Victorian, early Edwardian antique chemise edged with hand crochet lace around the neckline, armholes and shoulders.

This crisp white cotton slip would have originally been worn underneath a corset to soften its affect on the skin. 

Closes with two mismatched shell buttons to each shoulder. The back panel has gathers into the back neck and there are godets (triangular inserts) to each side seam. Machine stitched with French seams. See condition report below.

In a roomier XL size - perfect as a nightdress or loungewear for anyone who likes to stay cool and comfortable in style.

Measurements are taken with the garment laid flat.

Condition: Very good overall with one small area of wear (2 tiny mends and a bit of fray just below them). Clean and ready to wear.

How to check if it will fit: The best way to check fit is to use a tape measure to measure yourself or an item from your wardrobe and check against the above. Once you have your measurements it makes buying vintage easier as standard sizes generally do not apply.
