This is a rare 1950's Stratton loose powder compact featuring RMS Queen Mary, part of Stratton's series of ocean liner compacts.

Features a seafaring illustration of the cruise ship to the lid with the ship's name. The base has the engine turned stars associated with the Stratton name. The shape is referred to as the Stratton Queen and has fluted edges.

Opens to reveal the mirror and the 'compact in hand' logo, so when you pull the mirror back the powder well lid automatically opens up for you to access your loose face powder.

Despite having age wear, see below, this would be a lovely gift for anyone who spent their honeymoon or enjoyed special times on the classic British ocean liner.

Measures: 3 1/4 inches

Brand: Stratton, England

Condition: Very good overall but please note the following, has surface wear and scratches overall and tiny areas of enamel have gone on the lid - see the first and last funnel, a white set on the side of the ship and the letter y in images. The mirror is good but has a mark around one edge. Inside the power well lid has a mark and the inner well has faint marks - unseen when in use.

Details:

This is just one in the Stratton Ocean Liner series of ships. The RMS Queen Mary sailed between England and New York as part of the Cunard White Star Line from 1936 until 1967. Like many ocean liners she was commandeered during World War II to carry troops.

The ship is now permanently stationed in Long Beach, Los Angeles and is used as a tourist attraction and a very elegant hotel for those who love the class and bygone age of sea travel.

Delivery: U.K. mainland, delivery included. International, please see the shipping calculator in your shopping cart.

All vintage items have been pre-used, unless stated otherwise, and may have gentle signs of wear.
