A rare and quite curious antique silver moon face rattle with a smiling face that tinkles when shaken.

A collectible piece circa 1920s.

Stamped EPNS - electroplated nickel silver towards the bottom.

Originally a baby rattle but not suitable for children now as there are a few sharp edges across the lower opening. This would have had a teething ring too, now missing. 

This has a pressed hollow metal smiley man in the moon face, inside which is a bell that tinkles away.

Width: 3.8 cm
Height of main body, including fixed loop but not the additional link: 4.2 cm

Condition: Solid but worn from use or storage with dents and surface wear - see images.

Important: Please do not let small children play with this. It was once a toy but is now a collectors' piece to be enjoyed by adult children.
