A rare and splendid vintage Thirties dress clip.

This dates to a period of the 1930s when naturalistic forms where beginning to replace Art Deco minimalism and there was what became known as a Victorian Revival. Natural and organic forms were made popular during the late 1800s, early 1900s in the form of the Arts and Crafts movement and Art Nouveau styles.

This is a beautiful piece, the pearls are set on individual wires to form the bunch of grapes and the vine leaves are bronze. Closes at the back with a sprung clip which has sharp prongs to hold the clip in place.

Manufacturer: Marked Made in the USA. There is also a patent number - 1852188, which was assigned to inventor Elisha A. Phinney in 1932 for George H. Fuller and Sons. George H. Fuller was a jewellery manufacturer in Rhode Island (the heart of America's jewellery manufacturing in the early 1900s).

Measures: 2 inches x 1 1/4 inches.

Condition: Pretty excellent with some age wear to the metal.
